Are you ready for an EPIC 5-DAY PHOTO ADVENTURE?

Author Nury Vittachi once said, “You can leave Hong Kong, but it will never leave you.” It would be cliche to say there’s no place like it on Earth. Yet it’s true.

To start, Hong Kong has the most skyscrapers in the world, more than double that of its nearest rival, New York City. It’s also one of the most densely populated places on the planet, with more Rolls Royce’s per person than any other city.

Night photography and Hong Kong go together like dim sum and tea.

There’s more beyond the glitz and glam of this storied Asian megacity to keep any urban romantic dreaming. Wander down neon-lit alleyways, hike mountainside trails, explore incense-laden temples, or sample one of the best food scenes in the Eastern hemisphere.

In short, its dynamic canvas doesn’t just inspire you to create, Hong Kong impels you to photograph like never before.

And then there’s Macau, a former Portuguese colony until 1999. We’ll make a day trip by ferry to photograph the historic center. It’s full of narrow alleyways, colorful colonial homes, a 17th century baroque facade – the remains of St. Paul’s church, and city lights. Macau is The Las Vegas of Asia after all.

Improve Every Aspect of Your Photography

Whether you want to get better at planning, shooting, or editing your photos, are a beginner or advanced photographer, you’ll have the chance to learn something new.

Have a question during the tour? Ask us anytime. Impromptu lessons will take place in the field on an as-needed basis or over an informal talk at mealtime. And if you prefer to be left alone to shoot, that’s fine too.

Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated places in the world.

The core principles of the tour are flexibility, community, discussion, and the freedom to learn at your own pace.

You’ll also be encouraged to explore what interests you: night photography, long exposure, aerial, architecture, street photography, and beyond. There will be plenty to capture from sunrise to sunset.

You can even shoot with your phone if you like! The important thing is to continue to develop your style and hone your voice.

Unleash Your Creativity: Post Processing Sessions

In addition to shooting some incredible locations on this trip, we will teach you our approach to post processing in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.

During the classroom sessions, you’ll learn how to transform your images into your unique artistic vision, and even take your photography into the realm of digital artistry.

Also, you can edit your images from the previous day and get feedback from your instructors and group members.

Aerial drone photography in Hong Kong looks like something from another planet.

Be Part of a Supportive Tribe

Photography can be a solitary hobby. That’s not all bad. Sometimes though, it’s just great to meet up with friends to go out and shoot. On another level, being part of a supportive group can stimulate your growth as a photographer.

Hong Kong Tour Itinerary: Chase The Light

As with any outdoor photography adventure, you can’t predict the weather or quality of light. So we will adapt our shoot plan as we go to make the most of the conditions we’re given.

On day 1 we will meet at the airport at 12:00 PM and accompany you to the hotel. After check-in, you’ll have some time to relax before our group orientation. Then we’ll head out for a photo session in the streets of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is exhilarating to photograph, even in the rain.

Days 2-5 will be about chasing the light. We have a long list of stunning locations that cover everything from the iconic, like the jaw-dropping view from Victoria’s Peak, to lesser known spots in Hong Kong and Macau. It all depends on what location will be best for sunrise, sunset, or night photography on any given day.

In addition to unforgettable photo shoots and informative post processing sessions, we’ve included some fun activities, as well as some down time for you to relax or shop for souvenirs. The tour will end at 12:00 PM on December 7th.

You could say it’s a Hong Kong photo tour for foodies.

Last but not least, we will eat our way through Hong Kong and Macau. Both Julien and Pete are foodies at heart. So it will be a food tasting tour as much as a photographic one.
